A Senior Partner at Milberg, Randi Kassan is the Litigation and Operations Manager, managing over 15 litigations including intake, review of cases, client communication, filing of complaints, written discovery, motion practice, expert reports, court conferences, bellwether trial workup, settlement negotiations, and settlement process.
Ms. Kassan has garnered a plethora of experience and knowledge in the mass tort community by staying intimately involved in all facets of the litigations, specifically Party and Non-Party Discovery, Electronic Storage discovery, and Science in multiple mass torts across the country. She graduated from Binghamton University with a B.A. in Psychology and received her J.D. from Hofstra University Law School. Prior to joining Milberg, she specialized in mass claim insurance litigation at Baker Sanders, LLC.
Ms. Kassan has been appointed by State and Federal Judges to serve on many Plaintiffs’ steering committees such as Zimmer Knee and Propecia MDLs. She was a contributing member of the ESI and discovery committees in the Benicar MDL in New Jersey and Mirena Litigation in New York and New Jersey. She has completed voluminous work for Steering Committees involving document review, third party subpoenas, witness research, jury selection, and the bellwether trial process.
She now specializes in litigation primarily involving pharmaceuticals and devices. Some of her most recent litigations include Cartiva, Hernia Mesh, Risperdal, Roundup, Paragard, Paraquat, Juul, Bair Hugger, and 3m Ear Plugs. Ms. Kassan is currently concentrating on representing women with injuries from Taxotere, Transvaginal Mesh, and Talcum Powder. Additionally, she is working on representing unions and municipalities in the Opiate litigation pending in New York, Illinois and Ohio.
Ms. Kassan is a member of the American Association of Justice, New York Bar Association, and National Trial Lawyers. She has participated in speaking engagements for HarrisMartin on the Medtronic bone infuse and Fresenius litigation, as well as additional topics at Mass Tort Med School.
She is admitted to practice law in the States of New York, Missouri, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Washington D.C. in addition to numerous federal courts across the country, including the United States District Courts in the Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern Districts of New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Illinois and the District of Colorado.
Outside of her law practice, Ms. Kassan enjoys outdoor activities and participating in pickleball leagues. She frequently visits her family in Montreal.
