Ms. Mariya Weekes is a Milberg Senior Counsel with fifteen years of experience practicing law in Florida. Her primary areas of focus include information technology, consumer fraud, and class action lawsuits.
In 2018, Ms. Weekes was elected as a Circuit Court Judge in Broward County, Florida. Over the last five years as a sitting Circuit Court Judge, she has presided over thousands of complex cases, hundreds of trials, and motions.
Inspired by the opportunity to hold powerful entities accountable for their actions, Ms. Weekes retired from the bench to join Milberg. In this role, she is motivated to represent large groups or classes of individuals willing to seek justice on behalf of themselves and their collective entities.
She enjoys the complex and challenging nature of class action work while protecting the rights and interests of large groups of individuals who may not otherwise possess the resources to pursue legal action.
Outside of the office, Ms. Weekes has twins and is a fitness enthusiast. When she is not attending her children’s sporting events, she can be found doing something outdoors.
Ms. Weekes is admitted to practice in the state of Florida.
