Vicki J. Maniatis is a Partner at Milberg – performing all levels of bellwether trial case-specific work-up, discovery and expert investigation, procurement and development – while serving as one of the firm’s Dangerous Drugs & Devices Practice Leaders. Ms. Maniatis works on behalf of numerous municipal clients nationwide and has served as a practice leader in the firm’s Environmental and Toxic Torts department. She also works on behalf of the firm’s medical malpractice and utility cases.
Ms. Maniatis graduated with a B.A. from the Pennsylvania State University and a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law. After several years of practicing as a defense trial lawyer, she switched to the plaintiffs’ side of Aviation, pharmaceutical, and medical device mass tort cases for over twenty-five years. She has been appointed to serve as Lead Counsel, Plaintiff Steering Committee member, committee member, and Fee committee member by both Federal and State court Judges.
Ms. Maniatis is an international invited lecturer and moderator on a wide variety of cutting edge legal matters and their impact on pharmaceutical and mass tort cases including Opioids, Trans Vaginal Mesh, Fosamax, Ortho Evra, Risperdal, Propecia, Avandia, Onglyza, as well as several medical devices. She has also published articles on topics including Pharmaceuticals and vaccines.
In 2024, Ms. Maniatis was recognized by the National Trial Lawyers as a Mass Tort Top 25 Trial Lawyer and as a Civil Plaintiff Top 100 Trial Lawyer in New York. Over her successful career, Ms. Maniatis has also been recognized as a Top Attorney of the NY Metro Area and Top Woman Attorney in the NY Metro Area (2013 to date). She serves as a founding member of Mass Tort Med School, an annual medical seminar for Plaintiffs’ attorneys that offers numerous physician speakers and cutting-edge medical issues, as well as an organizer of the Mass Torts Puerto Rico annual attorney conference. She previously served as a committee co-chair for the Women En Mass group and currently serves as a founding co-chair on Milberg’s DEI Committee.
Ms. Maniatis is admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
Outside the office, Ms. Maniatis is an avid outdoors woman, runner, and triathlete. She has completed marathons and half Ironman races, culminating with completing the Ironman Mont-Tremblant 140.6 and qualifying for and competing in the USA Triathlon Age Group National Championships in Cleveland, Ohio. She has served as an Advisory Council Member to the Academy for Biotechnology of the Morris County Vocational School District and Mountain Lakes High School in New Jersey.
